Thomas Steiner received his law degree (MLaw, 2007; Dr. iur., 2009, summa cum laude) from the University of Lucerne (Switzerland). He is an Affiliated Researcher of the i-call (International Communications & Art Law Lucerne) research centre of the University of Lucerne, Faculty of Law, and publishes in German and English in the domains of Internet, online games, advertising, broadcasting and law. His doctoral thesis Advertising in Online Games and Cultural Diversity: An EC and International Media Law Enquiry (Staempfli and Bruylant, 2010) is the result of research conducted within the eDiversity research project. “eDiversity: The Legal Protection of Cultural Diversity in a Digital Networked Environment” has been an integral part of the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) “International Trade Regulation”, supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). Thomas Steiner is currently a trainee lawyer in a major law firm in Zurich. |
Thomas Steiner studierte Jura an der Universität Luzern (MLaw, 2007; Dr. iur, 2009, summa cum laude). Er ist assoziiertes Mitglied der Forschungsgruppe i-call (International Communications & Art Law Lucerne) der Rechtswissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität Luzern und publiziert in den Themenbereichen Internet, Online-Computerspiele, Werbung, Rundfunk und Recht. Seine Dissertation Advertising in Online Games and Cultural Diversity: An EC and International Media Law Enquiry (Stämpfli und Bruylant, 2010) verfasste er im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekts “eDiversity: The Protection of Cultural Diversity in a Digital Networked Environment”, Teil des Nationalen Forschungsschwerpunkts (NFS) “International Trade Regulation”, ein Förderungsinstrument des Schweizerischen Nationalfonds (SNF). Thomas Steiner ist derzeit Anwaltssubstitut in Zürich. |
